Rumor has it that the former owners of “Voltage” (which was recently reportedly closed down for alleged drunken mayhem excesses) may have resurfaced and are trying their luck at turning the abandoned site of “The Museum” into a private club for nudists named “The Nudeum“.
The slightly surreptitious opening seems to have been quite successful. (Who knew that their was such a pent up demand for an upscale nudist club in Baltimore?) The attractive bar is accessible to both men and women. Perhaps more importantly, “The Nudeum” provides free clothes check and changing rooms for diners.
To our surprise, we learned that even the kitchen staff cooks in the buff!
The entrees on the Nudeum’s menu clearly focus in on its offerings of “big meat dishes” with the finest and largest steaks and sausages.
The whopping Emperor Sized Prime Rib ($80 and 80 ounces of meat) is sure to challenge the heartiest appetite:
The Sausage Mountain ($55) is a tower of sausage with veggies and hot sauce:
The waiters are particularly friendly and attentive (Waiters are differentiated from guests with the formal bowties that they wear)
The dining room is spacious and elegant with adequate room between tables
The dessert buffet presentation was unlike any that we’ve seen in Baltimore since the close of the former Porthole Bar and Restaurant in Waverly.
Appealing to their up-scale intellectually demanding customers, the owner of The Nudeum have added an art gallery on the third floor of the ornate former mansion where particularly knowledgable docents lead stimulating discussions on the the artworks (FYI – The owners plan is to change the gallery art displays monthly)
